Morocco, officially known as Kingdom of Morocco is one of the eye-catching beautiful countries in North Africa. The country is famous for its vast history, ancient dynasties and empires. Apart from that the country also enjoys the status of being fifth largest economy in entire Africa.

When we visit Morocco for the first time, we find the rich culture, beautiful locations and attractive markets for shopping along with delicious food with amalgamation of various cultures. Moroccans are extremely hospitable, kind and welcoming people.  

VALLEY OF ROSES:

One of the underrated and highly recommended place in Morocco is none other than the Valley of Roses commonly known as Vallee des Roses surrounded by the town of El Kelaa M’Gouna. Valley of Roses is just like a dream romantic place in a novel where the hero reaches while going through some adventurous journey. The landscape of the Valley includes colorful mountains, vast patches of olives and countless gardens of pink roses all over.

Every year, in the months of April and May, around 3000 to 4000 tons of wild flowers are collected from the Valley of Roses. These roses are used for making countless products like perfumes, body soaps, oils, creams and much more. In this way, Valley of Roses is itself a source of running a huge industry and at the same time makes it a biggest tourist attraction point.

This season is celebrated as a festival known as “The Rose Festival” every year and it is considered as one of the famous celebrations in Morocco.

As a tourist, the best way is to hire a local guide from the Valley of Roses in order to catch the rose festival on time. During the festival, one can explore the world of roses by wandering around the valley and witnessing the overwhelming fragrance of pink roses all over.  

ANCIENT RUINS IN AIT BEN HADDOU:

Ait Ben Haddou is an ancient abandoned village in Morocco that carries a number of houses on the hill side. The fame of this destination multiplied worldwide when this place was shown in a famous international project like Hollywood movie “Gladiator”

This location was also shown in the third season of famous international series “Game of Thrones”. Therefore, this location is takes you centuries back once you visit it.

This place is considered as an ideal place for explorers, historians, photographers and film makers. This masterpiece is an evidence to ancient Moroccan clay architecture. This entire place is listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

CAVES OF HERCULES:

Caves of Hercules are located 14km west from the city of Tangier, Morocco. The cave has two openings, with one facing the sea while other facing the land.

The cave carries the history of centuries and is considered as a captivating beauty for archaeologists, historians and casual tourists.

There are several historical myths and legends related to the Caves of Hercules. Many ancient authors have written about this place and it has become part of Literature particularly in Greek Literature. For instance, according to a narration, Hercules stayed one night in this cave in search of three golden apples. Another tale reveals that there was a cave named Hercules Cave with a huge tunnel that connects Spain with Morocco. In this way, this cave has been used in different stories written by different authors of history.
