Angola is a beautiful country located in Africa, blessed with countless things naturally including an eye-catching natural locations. The city of Luanda known as Paris of Africa worldwide while “Miradouro da Lua” is famous for its surface which resembles with the surface of the moon. Apart from that, Angola is blessed with 8 thousand species of plants, 275 species mammals, 78 species amphibians, 227 species reptiles, 915 species birds, and more than 300 species insects.

Let’s begin our article by discussing some of the Unique Natural Wonders in Angola.

“MIRADOURO DA LUA” (MOON’S SURFACE VIEW ON PLANET EARTH):

Miradouro da Lua (also known as Viewpoint of the Moon) is an attractive place as “Belas” a few kilometers from Luanda. This is one of the most famous wonders of Angola because the surface of Miradouro da Lua resembles a lot with the surface of the moon.

When you reach Belas, you will feel that you have landed on the moon. It is an absolutely breathtaking experience for the tourists who visit this place for the first time.

KALANDULA WATERFALLS:

Kalandula Waterfalls is yet another mesmerizing place, one of the Unique Wonders of Angola. It is the second largest waterfalls in entire Africa after the Victoria Falls in Zambia and Zimbabwe. The Kalandula Waterfalls are 105 meters high and 300 meters wide.

TUNDAVALA:

Tundalava is located near the town of Lubango. This place is famous for its two steep cliffs separated by a small gap which provides an extremely beautiful view of the green valley below the steep cliffs.

It is one of the highly recommended places to visit. Many people also consider this place as one of the Unique Wonders of Angola.

DISCOVERY OF THE EXTINCT GIANT SABLE ANTELOPE IN ANGOLA:

It was believed that antelope has been extinct from the planet earth but surprisingly it was found in Angola. Now, Giant sable Antelope is considered as the National Treasure of Angola.

LUANDA:

Luanda is famous worldwide as “Paris of Africa” due to numerous reasons. Luanda is the largest city in the country and at the same time it is the capital of Angola. This city serves as a commercial hub and an administrative center of Angola.

The city is famous as the epicenter of Angolan culture and economic activities. This city is also known as the backbone of Angola.

NATURAL RESOURCES IN ANGOLA:

Angola is blessed with countless natural resources including oil, gas and diamonds.

According to the estimate, Angola has oil reserves of around 9 billion barrels and 11 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. These natural resources play a huge role in boosting the economy of Angola.

SAMBA DANCE:

Samba Dance is considered as an important part of Angolan culture. Sometimes, people associate Samba Dance with Brazil but many people believe that it originated in Angola.

MAJORITY OF ANGOLAN POPULATION IS BELOW AGE 25:

An interesting fact about Angola’s population is that 70% of its population is below the age 25. The youthful population of Angola makes it a country with a very productive labor force.

FAMOUS ANGOLAN CUISINE:

CHICKEN MUAMBA:

Chicken Muamba is the national dish of Angola. The chicken is boiled and allowed to cook in the stew. It is flavored with garlic, onions and garnished with pepper and spices.

CALULU:

Calulu is a famous dish in Angola. It is prepared with the combination of vegetables and fish/meat. Other ingredients include sweet potato leaves, tomato, palm oil, and onions. It is served with either rice or other dishes.

MUFETE:

Fish is the primary ingredient in the dish Mufete. Apart from that grilled fish, beans, red oil, sweet potatoes, and flour are also added.
