Pakistan plays an important role due to its diverse and exclusive geography. Pakistan is home to world’s tallest mountains, mesmerizing beautiful scenery, rivers, seas, deserts, forests, greenery along with historical sites and a lot more. There are many sports on national and international level which can be hosted by Pakistan only because of its supportive geography naturally. Today we are going to discuss just five of them.
MOUNTAINEERING:
Pakistan is the country that can host international Mountaineering tournaments, Olympics and most adventurous mountaineering competitions. Karakorum is the second tallest mountain on planet Earth which is located in Pakistan.
Apart from that Pakistan also enjoys the honour of having five of the world’s fourteen tallest mountains including Karakorum 8,611 metres (28,251 feet), Nanga Parbat 8,125 metres (26,657 feet), Gasherbrum I 8,080 metres (26,510 feet), Broad Peak 8,051 metres (26,414 feet) and Gasherbrum II 8,034 metres (26,358 feet).
All of the above mentioned mountains enjoys the elevation above 8000 metres and are considered as best locations for arranging mountaineering adventures. The most suitable season for mountaineering is from June to September.
These events just need proper scheduling, media coverage in order to encourage international mountaineers to participate in these exclusive adventurous competition.
PARAGLIDING:
Paragliding is one of the most fascinating sports of all time. Even if it is done alone as an adventure, it is worthy of doing it but pleasure of paragliding is multiplied if there is a competition among the paragliders. When countless paragliders jumps from the mountain and makes the entire sky filled with colorful paragliding adventurers.
Paragliding from Karakorum Mountains, makes it an exclusive incredible experience in Pakistan than anywhere else because of the height of the mountain naturally. Nothing can be better than flying at the height of 7000 to 8000 metres above sea level.

Pakistani government has already provided the facility of rescue helicopter to the paragliders but that is not enough. The Government just need to make all necessary arrangements at the location for paragliders before beginning the international paragliding championship. For Instance, roads infrastructure around the valley, TV channel offices for National and International Media coverage, Emergency first aid and care centers and weather guide availability 24hours.
Apart from that there are many other places where paragliders can experience paragliding at comparatively lower height like Pir Chinasi in Muzaffarabad and Rawalakot in Azad Kashmir.
Polo
Polo is considered as one of the oldest sports in the world. Polo is played by only those who are excellent horse riders, having intelligent team tactics to dominate the opponent through their power and timely skillful strategies. Today, Polo is famous and played in 48 countries but ancient history tells us that it was played even in 600 BC. Many countries claim that origin of Polo began from them. According the belief of South Asians, it began from Northern Areas (Today’s Pakistan) centuries back and still played with same passion between the teams of traditional rivals from the tribes of Gilgit, Balistan and Chitral. This high intensity matches during the tournament during Shandur Polo Festival (Three days festival in the month of July) makes it a thrilling unique game in Pakistan.
The Shandur Polo Ground is the highest polo playing field globally. The playing ground is located 3700 metres above sea level (with connecting Shandur pass). The natural geography makes Pakistan the only country which can host Polo tournaments on National and International Level.
International teams can be motivated by showing live coverage of thrilling matches from the festivals each other. Government should add some to glamour to this sport by updating the Polo Grounds and promoting the skillful Polo players commercially and turn them into a sports stars.
