Mozambique is a country located in Southeastern Africa, famous for its attractive wildlife, natural environment, cultural heritage, islands, sandy beaches, welcoming people, delicious cuisine and a lot more. As a wildlife explorer, you can explore a variety of natural inhabitants including 200 species of mammals, 600 species of birds and around 6000 plant species.

KING OF CASHEW PRODUCTION:

Mozambique has more than 32 million cashew nut trees and Is listed among the top ten cashew producing countries in the world. There was a time in the 1990s when Mozambique was the largest producer of cashew nuts globally. Even today, Cashew production is a major source of income for countless locals in the country. Just cashew processing provides employment to thousands of individuals. The country’s cashew industry is naturally gifted with the favorable climate and soil conditions, which provides them an opportunity to play a significant role in Mozambique’s economy.

GORONGOSA NATIONAL PARK:

Gorongosa National Park is considered as the pride of the country. Whether you have a craze for wildlife or you are passionate about exploring beautiful landscapes, Gorongosa National Park is an ideal place in Mozambique for you. As a wildlife lover, you can explore a number of animals including elephants, lions, waterbuck, crocodiles etc. On the other hand, the diverse landscapes include forests, waterfalls, mountains, savannahs, plateau woodlands etc.

Quirimbas Archipelago is one of the best tourist destinations in Mozambique, having 32 small islands, mostly having white sand beaches. Quirimbas Archipelago is famous all over because of fishing, diving, and seafood. This is a famous place among the youngsters who love to visit it for their honeymoon after marriage because of the peaceful atmosphere and sandy beaches.

THE CHONGONI ROCK ART AREA IN MALAWI:

The Chongoni Rock Art Area in Malawi is considered as a cultural masterpiece of Mozambique. Here, we find the rock paintings from the iron age which depict the marks of human life centuries back on this place. This place actually preserves the cultural traditions and history of the people who lived in Malawi Plateau. Their rituals, ceremonies and other signs of life are also depicted through the rock paintings. This Chongoni Rock Art Area was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site back in 2006.

Music in Mozambique is diverse and has a variety of genres including Marrabenta, timbila, mapiko and jazz-fusion. Every genre is different from the other. You can enjoy music according to your taste.

When we talk about the sports in Mozambique, football is the ultimate famous sport followed by volleyball and basketball.

MOZAMBIQUE’S CUISINE:

When we talk about Mozambique’s cuisine, they have a variety of food because of the blend of African, Portuguese and Arab influences.

XIMA:

Xima is one of the most common dishes in Mozambique. It is thick porridge made from water, maize and corn flour. This delicious dish is often served with seafood, vegetables or meat.

MATAPA:

Matapa is another common dish in Mozambique made from cassava leaves, peanuts, garlic, onion and coconut milk. Sometimes, people use cashew nuts or shrimps to increase the taste.

PIRI-PIRI:

Piri- Piri is one of the most famous foods in Mozambique. This mouthwatering dish is prepared by using a sauce made from crushed chilies, lemon, pepper, garlic, salt, vinegar and salt. This sauce is served with grilled chicken known as Galinha Asada.

GALINHA ASADA:

Galinha Asada is a mouth watering grilled chicken, famous all over Mozambique.
